Treacle is fascinated by everything and roller-coasts from one sticky situation to the next. She also sticks to us like … well, like Treacle. She jumps onto the laptop, generating a series of random letters as she runs across the keyboard, climbs on the iPad, testing it with her paws, and dives into the middle of the newspaper.
She prowls around the edge of the bath and pats at the bubbles, precariously close to falling in. She bites at the top of our heads and chews our hair. She swings from the towels and she tries to climb into the loo.
If we are gardening, she leaps onto the trowel and chases the hoe (not a risk-free game!) She swipes at the low-hanging tomatoes in the greenhouse, like a boxer with a punch-bag, and has to be removed from the site of the bonfire before she decides to investigate the flames.
In the house, she likes to join in with the housework, running and leaping on the mop for the ride across the floor, jumping down into the sink just as it’s been bleached so that we have to carefully wash her paws, and attacking the duster. Unlock Poppy, she is not afraid of the Dyson and stares at it defiantly as it advances and retreats.
And now she is in the washing machine! Hoping to go for a spin, Treacle?
